Access Ai Weiwei
Right now we are celebrating the official opening of the exhibition "so sorry" of Ai Weiwei in Munich’s Haus der Kunst. China’s most well known artist in the Western World and the Internet is an icon of our times. As a controversially perceived political human being he is pointing at structural violence.
The expression: "So sorry" probably the most used non-F-word by people with marginal or no proficiency in the English language is a strong account for these kind of violence.
If you say: "I am sorry" you usually admit that you did something wrong and you ask the ones being affected by your wrong behaviour and actions for forgiveness. In order to be forgiven you have to understand what was wrong and as a consequence of regretting your shortcomings you have to change your behaviour, to stop your misguided actions and to try to prevent future failures.
If you just say: "I am sorry" (without really meaning it, i.e. understanding the concept of forgiving) and continue with your mistakes consciously, because you have the power to do so. The ones affected will not be able to forgive you; they will be frustrated, will lose trust and will seek to restore justice. If they do so in a violent way, they will also have to say "I am sorry" one day.
Maybe art has the chance to highlight and make understandable problems of structural power and violence in its unique non-violent way.
For now: Enjoy the show.

Acccess the old aSWZurich
Panta Rhei – social networks are in an continuous flow and readjustment, as they represent the interconnected and changing relationships of its constituents, individual people.
Social networks defined this way are not necessarily bound to any specific platform like facebook.com, asw.com, xing.com, decayenne.com or internations.org. The relationships among people (i.e.networks) can be represented in different ways on different platforms.
If we take for example the network of the former students of the University of St. Gallen / Switzerland called HSG Alumni. This network has many on- and offline representations of diverse forms. In the offline world there are many different formal and informal clubs, associations, groups and circles. An official list of the more formal offline communities can be found at http://alumni.unisg.ch/
In the online world, you can find HSG Alumni on many so-called social network platforms. On internation.org and linkedin.com there are several groups called HSG Alumni. On asw.com there is a profile called HSG Alumni, which is just linked with other people holding an academic title, granted for the University of St. Gallen. Xing.com hosts a huge group called HSG Alumni, which is not even organised and initiated by a person who earned a HSG degree. In contrast to that alumni.unisg.ch and hsgalumni.net are directories and social network platforms which are exclusively built for the HSG Alumni network.
Like in this example the same applies to the network of people who are connected through the spirit of aSWZurich. It started at the end of 2004 when people and members of that time asmallworld.net began to gather through the initiatives of Isabel Florido, Stefan Siegel and myself. Nowadays this and parts of this network are represented on many platforms like asw.com, plaxo.com, internations.org and decayenne.com. The network aSWZurich uses a yahoo-based newsgroup to provide their members with an easy to use and very direct communication channel.
Yesterday we celebrated the aSWZurich spirit with more than 200 members at the ICON club in Zurich. Isabel, the aSWZurich moderators and many members of the early days had a relaxed evening among friends as can be guessed from the pictures above. For more pictures feel free to go to http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/event.php?eid=180629940206
I am sure that at today's decayenne.com apero there will also be some of the aSWZurich members. It´s the people, not the platform that counts. Greetings to my decayenne friends. If you need an invitation to decayenne.com send an email to decayenne@globalisten.com

Every time I return to kloster-einsiedeln.ch where I did spend more than two and a half years during the last 15 year, I immediately feel at home. For me the monks, the abbey and the benedictine culture creates an atmosphere of community and brotherhood in Christ.
I wish you and your beloved ones a Happy Easter and scared blessings, irrespective of your spiritual tradition.

Access Cosmopolitans
As my InterNations Ambassdor colleague in Moscow Peter Richter, manager at Ferrero International /Russia did put it once: It is a great pleasure and honour to organise such get together´s since you can talk and get acquainted to many international high profiles and decision makers who are sharing the same (Expatriates) needs and interests. You communicate at the same eye level and have your global peer group locally at one spot.
There is nothing more to add, than use your chance tonight and have a free cosmopolitan (the cocktail) with other free cosmopolitans (the people) at the amberclub.ch in Zurich, starting at 8 pm. For guest list http://www.internations.org/events/view_event/2228 For invitation to internations.org have a look to the right.

Access BEBO
Remember the old days, when aSW.com was a small world and Xing.com has been an open business club?
Well, bebo.com is back in town. While we are enjoying a warm and sunny spring day in Küsnacht (see picture background) AOL is relaunching its acquisition bebo.com in Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands simultaneously.
The idea is to source friends (user) generated content from various platforms like Facbook, myspace, youtube, flickr and into your bebo.com profile.
For instance: www.bebo.com/schiessl
Nice idea, let us see if it is going to work and offering an appropriate alternative to facebook?
As a tribute to the old days I just started:
www.bebo.com/asmallworld
and
www.bebo.com/openbc
Feel free to join, let us rebuilt our old communities of friendship and trust.

Access Saint Patrick
To honour the Irish missionary and national patron saint, many Western people around the world get together to have a drink or more. Once a year they feel Irish and Catholic at heart.
Well we easily forget that the our western civilisation and culture is mainly based on the Christian value system. You might give this a thought, when you enjoy your next Guinness.
If you have a Western background or not you are cordially invited to join the InterNations.org St. Patricks Party taking place on Thursday the 19th of March at the Sugar Club in Munich. For details or guestlist feel free to mail to internations@globalisten.com

Terms of Use Update
Over the past few days, we have received a lot of feedback about the new terms we posted two weeks ago. Because of this response, we have decided to return to our previous Terms of Use while we resolve the issues that people have raised. For more information, visit the Facebook Blog.
If you want to share your thoughts on what should be in the new terms, check out our group Facebook Bill of Rights and Responsibilities.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
After 2 days of heavy discussions and complaints in the "net community" Facebook has taken its unannounced modification of its Terms of Use back.
This was no surprise, since the membership in any social network is based on trust. People disclose their contacts and relationships and share secrets online, believing they are able to control their rights and their level of privacy.
As world-wide discussed Facebook would have been able to monetize and commercially use all your personal content and contributions ever placed on the platform. Even if you have already cancelled your account.
Even if the financial exploitation of the network was never intended, as being claimed now. You do not foster trust, by secretly changing your Terms of Use. The real surprise for me was, that it had taken 2 weeks before the first bloggers recognized the Change.
Hopefully the future Bill of Rights and Responsibilities will be created and announced in a more public way. Todays announcement to all users (see above) proves: Yes they Can!!!

Access Davos, St. Moritz and the idea of a P2P Economy
During our JIC Members Weekend (jiclub.com) in St. Moritz I had the chance and pleasure to spend an evening with Stan Stalnaker, founder and creative director of hubculture.com discussing the future of social networks with a focus on Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Financing and the idea of a P2P Economy.
In times where confidence and trust seem to be missing, (or got lost) in the financial industry, these key ingredients of any business interaction are more likely to be found in close(d) social communities.
Stan´s interview with The WallStreet Journal (wsj.com) and his article on Harvard Businessmanager (in German) might give a good introduction to the topic.
