Access Gerhard Richter

The british guardian considers gerhard richter a ‘picasso of the 21st century’, the frankfurter allgemeine newspaper sees him as ‘the master of all genres’. gerhard richter (*1932, dresden) will be present tonight at the pre-view of his exhibition: gerhard richter – abstract pictures organized by the "Gesellschaft der Freunde der Stiftung Haus der Kunst"* in Munich.

This is a nice opportunity not only to familiarise yourself with his less known work, but also to talk to some 500 individuals, representing the top of the Munich, German and European Art scene.

If you are not in Munich right now, the exhibition will be running until May 17th.

*For membership details feel free to send an email to schiessl@art-society.org or to go to http://www.freunde-hausderkunst.de

Access Terms of Use (Update)

Terms of Use Update

Over the past few days, we have received a lot of feedback about the new terms we posted two weeks ago. Because of this response, we have decided to return to our previous Terms of Use while we resolve the issues that people have raised. For more information, visit the Facebook Blog.

If you want to share your thoughts on what should be in the new terms, check out our group
Facebook Bill of Rights and Responsibilities.

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

After 2 days of heavy discussions and complaints in the "net community" Facebook has taken its unannounced modification of its Terms of Use back.

This was no surprise, since the membership in any social network is based on trust. People disclose their contacts and relationships and share secrets online, believing they are able to control their rights and their level of privacy.

As world-wide discussed Facebook would have been able to monetize and commercially use all your personal content and contributions ever placed on the platform. Even if you have already cancelled your account.

Even if the financial exploitation of the network was never intended, as being claimed now. You do not foster trust, by secretly changing your Terms of Use. The real surprise for me was, that it had taken 2 weeks before the first bloggers recognized the Change.

Hopefully the future Bill of Rights and Responsibilities will be created and announced in a more public way. Todays announcement to all users (see above) proves: Yes they Can!!!

Access Terms of Use (Facebook)

By the 4th of February 2009 Facebook changed its "Terms of Use" without  prior announcement. Even if you terminate your facebook account, you are still granting facebook an irrevocable, non-exclusive license (with the right to sub license) for all your content posted.

Details can be found at http://consumerist.com/5150175/facebooks-new-terms-of-service-we-can-do-anything-we-want-with-your-content-forever

What do you think about these far-reaching rights granted for facebook? Does it affect your publishing behaviour there?

Please share your opinion.

Access Davos, St. Moritz and the idea of a P2P Economy

During our JIC Members Weekend (jiclub.com) in St. Moritz I had the chance and pleasure to spend an evening with Stan Stalnaker, founder and creative director of hubculture.com discussing the future of social networks with a focus on Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Financing and the idea of a P2P Economy.

In times where confidence and trust seem to be missing, (or got lost) in the financial industry, these key ingredients of any business interaction are more likely to be found in close(d) social communities.

I would like you to join our discussion on this fascinating concept.

Stan´s interview with The WallStreet Journal (wsj.com) and his article on Harvard Businessmanager (in German) might give a good introduction to the topic.

If you want to get invited to hubculture.com, feel free to send me an email to hubculture@globalisten.com
