Access HSG Alumni

Over 9 years ago, together with 7 friends, I founded the HSG Alumni Club München International e.V., a non-profit organisation to help former students of the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland (one of the leading European Business Schools) to stay connected with each other as well as with their alma mater.

With currently roughly 600 local members, we are the biggest association representing HSG Alumni outside Switzerland, with members ranging from Entrepreneurs, board-members of MNC´s and private Investors to the new alumna and alumnus just starting their careers.

In order to revitalise our monthly get togethers in Munich (every last Thursday of the month) we started the season 2009 with a South-African dinner and wine-tasting together with her Excellency Consul General Tselane Mokuena at the alphabusinessclub.com

Access InterNations Zurich

Two get togethers of two different social networks in two days. Some 100 members of InterNations Zurich found their way to 0815/2. As the majority elected online the legendary Mojito for the cocktail of the month, the free spirits helped the Expats to find new friends in our cold and grey January Zurich. I was quite happy to meet some old friends, which I have not seen since my student days in St. Gallen. This had to be celebrated, but where to go at 1 am in Zurich Seefeld? Since the "drinks-bar" had already closed, we were lucky that someone from a seemingly closed restaurant on Dufourstrasse waved us in. What a surprise, that nice person turned out to be Christina Pf., hotelier of the Stubaitaler Jagdhof (hotel-jagdhof.at), whom I met years ago (too many to mention). If you have the chance, meet her this weekend at the fespo.ch in Zurich.

Finally we celebrated the Swiss ice-hockey success (5:0) with Champagne, Cigars and Chocolate.

Now I am very curious what today's evening with the HSG Alumni and the South-African consul general at the alphabusinessclub.com in Munich will turn in to.

Access aSWZurich

What started with 2 tables at the club-indochine.com in November 2004, with some 40 asw.com members celebrating life and friendship to the fullest, became the most popular get together series of its kind in Zurich.

Yesterday roughly 300 Zurich smallworld friends enjoyed real-life communication among friends of friends of.. at the Kaufleuten Lounge. Given that demand, Jennifer, Patrick, Nick and myself, ie the current moderators of aSWZurich, a yahoo group based newsletter founded by Stefan Siegel (notjustalabel.com) and Johann Christian Schiessl (globalisten.com) will continue to organise these get togethers every 6 weeks regularly.

Access DLD Starnight 2009

A smart approach: Just a few days ahead the weforum.org in Davos, Hubert Burda and Yossi Vardi invite the internet world and other brilliant thinkers to the dld-conference.com in Munich to discuss the future of our favorite medium, or as we call it new realities.

As most presentations are available online, I highly recommend you to have a look at their website. For me it was a real pleasure to meet our international friends, colleagues and clients back in my old home town Munich. Traditionally we had a strong representation of our HSG Alumni Association hsgalumni.net - nice to see the Professor, the Prince and the Swiss novelist prospering.

Since I had to get back to Zurich, I did leave quite early. But I stayed long enough to meet a new regular to this blog. Thank you Marie for your kind words. Are you coming to St. Moritz?

Access Discipline

Discipline is a good virtue in order to get to know others and yourself better. Well it takes some discipline to write a blog regularly. Discipline is not enough, there also should be genuine content, relevant to the readers.

Your comments made clear, that you want me not only to explore the concept of access relations, but also to write about and invite to social gatherings, where these communication techniques will be practised.

Access New Year

What a start into a very special year. One of my friends got engaged in St. Moritz, others..., but we all had a night to remember. Personally I lost my voice and was meditating, relaxing in shrishasana during the first minutes of the new year, since my ability to communicate was quite limited.

Now it is our turn to use this new year full of hope, fear and opportunities in order to change for the better.

Let us start now and become friends with Twothousand Nine.
